Sequel to Daughter of Smoke and Bone
by Laini Taylor
Sequel to Shadow and Bone
by Leigh Bardugo
9) Sequels by Gayle Forman
10) NO, I haven't read this yet:
by Tahereh Mafi
I'm hoping this sequel is the best thing I've ever read.
But I'm also preparing tissues and a lighter just in case I'm wrong and Ignite Me becomes a literal statement. #TeamAdam
What are your favorite sequels?
I JUST found out there was a fourth book in The Thief series! I can't remember The King of Attolia at the moment, so clearly the whole series needs a reread (and also yay new book in the series for me to read!)
ReplyDeleteI haven't read all of these but definitely yes on Scarlet and Dark Triumph, both of which I found to surpass the first book and set the next up for new heights of awesome!
ReplyDeleteWe have a couple of the same books on our list this week. I haven't read Unravel Me yet, but what I've seen it sounds pretty amazing. I also have decided that I need to give Through the Ever Night at try. I did not like Under the Never Sky at all, so I thought not. But I've changed my mind.
ReplyDeleteGreat list,
~Sara @ Just Another Story
I loved Where She Went. I haven't read Through the Ever Night or Siege and Storm yet, but I've heard they are both amazing.

I basically agree with all of these, except Mafi's novel which I haven't read. I also really love The Piper's Son by Melina Marchetta as a companion/sequel to Saving Francesca and my #1 Sequel would have to be Fire by Kristin Cashore. I'm also surprised TDT didn't make this list since it's already one of my favorite sequels!(: I love that Haze and DoBaS is on here, though, along with everything else. And hopefully I'll love Just One Year as much as you and Heather did! Great Top Ten, Lauren!
ReplyDeleteScarlet was on my list too. And I should have thought of Through the Ever Night, what an amazing sequel! I haven't read Haze yet, but I'm glad to hear it's on your list because I really enjoyed Shadows. And yay, another Team Adam member! Great list! ~Pam
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for Just One Year!! Great list :)
ReplyDeleteI was going down your list say, "Yes! Oh, and that one, too! Yep!" all the way through it! Dark Triumph -- SO GOOD! And Siege & Storm and Scarlet...great list!
ReplyDeleteOh, so many series I've been wanting to read! Wow, Scarlet made so many lists today.
ReplyDeleteDammit Lauren, why'd you have to go and post all these awesome books and remind me of how many I desperately need to read! I have the Paula Weston series on my list based on your reviews, and I really, really, REALLY need to read Grave Mercy and Dark Triumph. I haven't read a single less-than positive review for them yet. I couldn't agree with you more on Scarlet and Days of Blood and Starlight, I loved both of those:)
ReplyDeletei completely forgot about Days of Blood & Starlight! *flogs herself* but i did remember Scarlet! and i really need to read the rest of the Lumatere series. ~daphne
ReplyDeleteI love how Ignite Me made your list. :) You're very possibly the biggest fan of this series I know, so I'll hope the resolution is a favorable one for you. Since I haven't read Destroy Me or Unravel Me, I can say without a doubt that right now I'm also on Team Adam's side.
ReplyDeleteGlad your list features some Megan Whalen Turner, Melina Marchetta, and Leigh Bardugo love.
Through the Ever Night, Scarlet and the two Gayle Forman companions were both on my list, too, this week! So YAY for good bookish taste :) I allllmost include Froi of the Exiles, but I changed it to The Piper's Son at the last minute because I did prefer those two books over the Lumatere Chronicles. I'm the failure who OWNS copies of Dark Triumph and Days of Blood and Starlight, but I still haven't read them yet. Aren't I terrible?! I just bought Shadow and Bone last week because Cass told me to (haha!), so it sounds like I need to get on that series now, too.
ReplyDeleteI feel like such a slacker looking at your list! I LOVE Siege & Storm and Where She Went of course, but I have yet to read any of the others on your list, even though I fully intend to with most of them. Oops.
